The Ring Master was invented by a carpenter, I believe, early in the
20th Century. It provides a means of precisely cutting rings from blanks
of wood or plastic that can be stacked and glued to form bowls, vases,
etc. The result is essentially a layered project but there is no reason
why a layer cannot be cut from built-up material and feature rings may be
added to a project just like normal segmented turning activities.
SPP supports use of the Ring Master in several ways; one being the
allocation of rings to planks as shown on the right. The program also
provides for one-click conversion of frame-miter and compound miter
rings/projects for Ring Master use. |
